What is the Open Enrollment Period?

0

The Open Enrollment Period is a designated period of time each fall, when you will have an opportunity to make changes to your health care coverage and add or drop dependents. Changes made during Open Enrollment become effective on January 1 of the following year. Changes remain in effect for the entire year, unless you experience a qualifying life event that permits you to change your coverage.

An open enrollment period (30 days) is held annually to enable participants to enroll and influence pricing. At the conclusion of the open enrollment period, the total VTD population is “locked” and the resulting locked aggregate VTD population determines the unit price for that annual period.
