What is the Ontario Home Energy Audit program?
A . It is a new energy conservation program that was launched on March 23, 2007. It is a four-year $24-million program that provides homeowners with a financial grant to help subsidize the cost of completing a home energy audit. Homeowners can be reimbursed for up to $150 for the cost of a pre-retrofit energy audit. It complements Ontario’s Home Energy Retrofit program and the federal government program called ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes which provide financial grants to improve the energy efficiency of a home by conducting retrofits that not only help to reduce home energy consumption but also help to reduce greenhouse gases To be eligible for retrofit grants, a homeowner must complete both a pre-retrofit and post-retrofit audit of their home.
