The Ontario government established a rebate on 85% of the output of OPG Non-Prescribed Assets (ONPA Rebate). This includes Ontario Power Generation’s coal-fired and smaller hydro electric operations. The rebate is set to expire in 2009. The rebate is equal to the difference between the market price and a set capped rate for the OPG output. Monies collected above the set price will be refunded to non-RPP consumers paying the wholesale price and to customers on retail contracts.
