Yes guinea pigs can die giving birth, if they are over about a year old and they have never had babies before. After this time the bones in their pelvis fuse rigidly, and this may make it very difficult or impossible for the young to be born. Ideally your guinea pig should be mated before she is 10-11 months old. the people who have gievn me thumbs down obviously haven’t written an answer themselves because all the other answerers say similar things to me!
