What is the obligation/responsiblity of the mentors?
The mentors play a critical part in the success of the program and success of the Faculty Fellows. Teaching mentors should meet with the Faculty Fellows on a regular basis and discuss course design (syllabi, lecture outlines), administration (TA meetings, office hours, advice on dealing with special circumstances, how to run a classroom), provide teaching feedback and encouragement. The research mentors should also meet with the Faculty Fellows on a regular basis and discuss research design, provide feedback (on drafts of papers, presentations, research), and encouragement. Both mentors should advise on how to balance teaching and research, and career development.
