Normal running range is 180 to 220 degrees operating temperature on your car. That leaves very little room to the overheat position. If your in bumper to bumper traffic with the ac on its guaranteed to overheat……right off the showroom floor. You can change to a 160 degree thermostat and your ac will run cooler, and so will the motor….. (its only 2 bolts and $3 and takes 5 minutes, if you live in Tex or Florida, New Mexico its a must do….to protect your car) We have changed over a hundred of customers thermostat just so they stop complaining…….no ones has complained since. We don’t have time to go get them every time their car overheats we do it to save US money and time.
