What is the nomadic network?
The Nomadic network provides network access for roaming and remote users to the University network. Roaming users are those with portable computers who wish to connect to the University campus network from locations such as libraries. Remote users are those with a portable or desktop PC at home that is already connected to the Internet (for example, via a domestic ISP) and need to access University network resources. • Who can use the nomadic network? The nomadic network is available to all members of the University (staff, students, and post grads) who are registered for computing facilities (such as an email address and a personal SGHMS username and password). Visitors to the University such as those on pre-sessional language courses who are registered using the guest username and password scheme are not currently able to use the nomadic network. • Is there a charge for using the service?
