What is the NOISEBATH facemask for?
In some circumstances speakers who are using NOISEBATH could find themselves under surveillance by video cameras or high quality telescopes and their words interpreted by persons skilled at reading lips. Because the NOISEBATH discs and playback system only protects against acoustic pickup and processing we have included the masks to be used when protection against lipreading is required. In our experience the mask effectively protects against lipreading and has a negligible decrease in intelligibility of a speaker in a face-to-face-conversation or when speaking on a secure telephone. Physicians use them all the time in critical operations and are easily understood by those around them in that setting so NOISEBATH users should also have no problems being understood.
