What is the NIH plan for the transition from PureEdge to Adobe-based application forms?

0

The majority of Grants.gov applications are now Adobe-based. In early December 2008, NIH updated more than 500 active Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) with Adobe-based application packages and closed their PureEdge predecessors. Any in-progress applications using the old PureEdge forms associated with transitioned FOAs are no longer viable for submission. Applicants must use the new Adobe-based application packages. These packages, referenced by NIH as ADOBE-FORMS-A, will contain Adobe-based equivalents of the PureEdge forms. These packages will likely be used only through April 2009. Beginning in March 2009, NIH will re-post application packages to align with the latest OMB and FFATA form updates (ADOBE-FORMS-B). NIH hopes that these packages will remain for at least two submission rounds. This form set will position NIH to move forward with the Fellowship and Training transitions to electronic application submission. These transitions are dependent on NIH’s ability to process
