The General Sequence of Appointments An initial exam/evaluation/consultation/appointment is when you will meet the orthodontist for the first time. This is an appointment where you will fill out medical, dental & insurance information and an orthodontic acquaintance form. At this appointment the orthodontist will give you a general idea of the orthodontic problems. If something seems amiss and there are still baby teeth remaining, the orthodontist may want to take an x-ray (PANO) to see where the other teeth are. There is no charge for this appointment.
