Liberty Natural Gas representatives will continue to actively reach out and meet with mayors from neighboring municipalities, council members and state officials over the course of the next few months, trying to explain their plan. Ms. Martin said COA will continue to do the same, pointing out all the negatives to the proposal as they go. Both representatives of Liberty Natural Gas and COA believe education is key to promoting their side of the story. Belmar officials agree. As a result, Councilman Doherty explained that he welcomes representatives of COA to present their side of the story to the council. While both presentations are sure to differ drastically from one another, Councilwoman Brennan stated on Tuesday, “The actual truth might lie somewhere in the middle.” Councilwoman Brennan acknowledged that there is a “wide disparity” which exists between both parties. “The more we can learn and listen to both sides, the easier it will be to form our own decisions about it,” she said.
