What is the next step for Kuala Lumpur International Airport?
SBA: Well, the next step for us, as I mentioned, is to build one permanent Low Cost Terminal, which will handle about 30 million passengers. ATN: How many passengers can handle the current one? SBA: About 15 million. It is ten million extended to 15 million. We have discussions with the government to find the right location for the new terminal and to build it. We believe that this terminal will be very good for the growth of the Low Cost Airlines. ATN: How important is for you if Malaysia Airlines will join an alliance? SBA: Of course we are going to have benefits if Malaysia Airlines joins an alliance. But the fact is the volume that an airport has from an airline. We have enough volume even if Malaysia Airlines is not a member of an alliance. I will give you the example of Dubai. Emirates, is not a member of an alliance but it brings huge volume to the airport of Dubai. ATN: KLIA is close to Singapore Airport and Bangkok Airport.
