Pop icon Prince has written a song praising the Minnesota Vikings just in time for their NFC Championship playoff game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. “Purple and Gold” debuted Thursday on Fox 9 TV during its 9 p.m. newscast. According to the station, Prince wrote the song immediately after watching the Vikings play the Dallas Cowboys at the Metrodome on Sunday, saying he had seen “the future.” The Vikings routed the Cowboys in that game, 34-3. The Vikings plan to post the song on their Web site, the station said. It could be found at myfoxtwincities.com Thursday night.
