What is the new Mail@umd e-mail system?
OIT currently administers five major systems (WAM, Glue, DEANS, umail, and ACCMAIL) and a few smaller systems that provide e-mail services to the University of Maryland community. The new Mail@umd e-mail system will merge e-mail services from all of these OIT-administered systems into one single system. OIT will subsequently be addressing the needs of other e-mail systems at the University. In the future, other departments may have the opportunity to transfer their e-mail systems to the Mail@umd e-mail system. Why make the move to the new Enterprise E-mail System? There are many reasons to transfer to the new e-mail system. One of the major benefits is that the new system will allow you to access your e-mail via the Web when you are at home or while you are traveling. The Web based interface will allow you to view and manage your messages on any browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
