What is the new digital broadcast system called?
The new digital television broadcast system is called ATSC (from the Advanced Television Systems Committee). This system is also referred to as DTV. Commercial broadcasting started in November, 1998, aimed at reaching 30% of the U.S. population. At the same time, television manufacturers began delivering new digital television equipment to consumers.
