What is the Network Systems industry?
The Network industry concentrates on the infrastructure of a business’s computer network and its connection to the rest of the world. The focus is on the seamless routing of data within a corporate network and the interface to wide area network services. The networking industry is concerned with managing user rights on the network and servers residing on the network. Network professionals make sure the cabling, routers and switches that tie all the systems together are installed and configured properly. These professionals ensure that data arrives at its location error free, secure and in a timely manner. Security is a large aspect of the networking infrastructure and it is a particular challenge to keep the network locked down. In the future the networking industry will be moving towards increasing dependence on emerging technologies like voice over IP (VOIP), wireless access, video, messaging and data all being carried by the network infrastructure.
