What is the need for spiritual life in this age of scientific and technological progress?
A. In the age of scientific and technological progress, most of us live a materialistic life. The need for spirituality has become even more important now than in the past. This question is commonly raised by people who think that the need for spirituality in the past was because of a lack of knowledge about the laws of nature, thus people had to seek refuge in the concept of God and spirituality. But now that science and technology have unveiled the laws of nature governing our universe, there is no need for such a refuge but this is wrong. If it was correct, then societies advanced in the field of science, would have abundant mental and spiritual peace, which they obviously do not. On the contrary, the growth of science and technology has brought an increase in mental and psychological problems. The real issue is that man is a composite of body and spirit. Man can have true happiness and ultimate success if the needs of the body and spirit are fulfilled.
