What is the NAV/indicative NAV?
The Net Asset Value (NAV) is provided once a day by the fund company. It states the value of the portfolio at a fixed time (usually 2pm). The indicative NAV (iNAV) is continuously calculated by Deutsche Börse or the issuer for index funds. Fund companies, which have the indicative NAV calculated by Deutsche Börse, notify the current portfolio to Deutsche Börse before the commencement of trading. The latter then calculates the indicative NAV continuously for the (intraday) portfolio based on current market prices. Foreign securities are valued at the prices of the domestic exchanges. If these exchanges are still closed, the Xetra prices are assumed as the reference prices.
