What is the NATURES TEARS® mist?
To counteract daily moisture loss through evaporation and other factors, the water component of your eyes’ tear film must be replenished daily or several times daily. Otherwise, dry eye symptoms can result. The surrounding air not only causes tears to evaporate, it dries out the skin of the eyelids and the area around the eyes, which can negatively impact tear production and cause premature aging lines. Tear film volume can be increased by drinking water but the process takes several hours. Since a healthy tear film is only five microns thick, a minuscule amount of externally applied water will quickly correct the problem. But you must use the right water and the water must be correctly applied. Most water is alkaline and has a heavy mineral content, both of which affect osmolarity (water retaining ability) and can actually increase ocular dryness. To naturally benefit the eyes, a water must be pure, minerally mild, naturally pH correct (slightly acidic) and applied as a fine mist. NAT
