What is the nature of competition you are facing from cheap Chinese imports?
Our main competition from China comes from their low-expansion glass tubing. Extensive under-invoicing is taking place with the consequent evasion of import duty.This leads to revenue loss for the government and unfair competition for us. Otherwise, we are able to combat their imports since our quality is significantly superior. Since these tubes are used for further conversion, quality plays an important role. Did the recent budget bring about any change for you? Well, little. Tableware were exempted from duty till now, but this time there is a 4% duty. After years of representations, duty was eliminated last year. Has there been any major restructuring in the company in the recent past? There has been some restructuring in the field of sales. We had the same sales team for our consumerware and industrial products previously. Now we have a separate sales team for each group.
