What is the National Quality Board and what is their role in Quality Accounts?

0

The National Quality Board has been established to provide overall leadership on quality across the NHS. It is chaired by David Nicholson, and contains membership from across DH, the system (eg. CQC, NICE etc), as well as expert and lay members. Their role in supporting the Quality Accounts scheme is an indirect one: • supervising the development of new standards and indicators; • providing advice on how, for example, Quality Accounts can help organisations connect with their communities; • ensuring that the components of the system (for example, the regulators and the Department of Health) work together towards the overall aims of the scheme.
