What is the National Junior Honor Society?
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) recognizes middle school students with excellent academic records. According to the organization’s charter, the NJHS seeks to provide its members with leadership training, community service opportunities and a communal interest in continued academic success.HistoryThe National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).Selection CriteriaStudents in the second semester of sixth grade through ninth grade at a school with an active NJHS chapter are eligible.
