What is the national forecast for the need of travel nurses over the next few decades?
The forecast is very promising for the profession. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that by 2016, more than one million new and replacement nurses will be required throughout the U.S. With the nursing shortage growing, the current demand for travel nurses will expand to even greater proportions. Statistics predict by 2020 a 29-percent increase in the national need for travel nurses. As a career, travel nursing provides not only adventure and the chance for developing new specialized skills and knowledge – it also provides financial stability in an economy where that is increasingly hard to find.
