What is the national flower of Poland?

0

There is no recognised national flower of Poland as such but after the battle at Monte Cassino (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_M… in World War II where the Polish troops took Monte Cassino after heavy losses. The only flower that was standing was the Cornflower or the Corn poppy, which in Latin is called – Papaver rhoeas (in Polish – mak). Therefore in conclusion, and I am sorry to other posters, there is no official flower of Poland but there is an adopted one to represent the souls of the dead of Monte Cassino.
