What is the National Archives Microfilm Rental Program?
Due to the cancellation of the Heritage Quest microfilm rental program, the Vigo County Public Library has joined the National Archives & Records Administration Microfilm Rental Program. This program allows patrons to borrow microfilm for a set fee through the Vigo County Public Library from the National Archives, which enhances the genealogical resources available to local patrons. What materials are available through this rental program? The Federal Population censuses for 1790 through 1880 and 1900 through 1930; the Compiled Military Service Records of Revolutionary War Soldiers and the General Index to those records; and the Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files may be borrowed from the National Archives. Those are the only microfilms available at this time!
