Working Title Films has put in motion a remake of the Icelandic thriller “Reykjavik-Rotterdam” as a potential star vehicle for Mark Wahlberg. Aaron Guzikowski (“Prisoners”) will write the script. Wahlberg is attached to produce with Leverage’s Stephen Levinson and Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. The Oskar Jonasson-directed “Reykjavik-Rotterdam” is Iceland’s foreign-language film submission for the upcoming Oscars, after having swept the Icelandic film awards, winning five Edda kudos. Story follows an ex-freight ship worker, fired for smuggling alcohol between Reykjavik and Rotterdam, who’s struggling as a security guard until his best friend persuades him to sign on for one last crooked job. Liza Chasin and Evan Hayes will be exec producers.
