Urinary tract infections are caused by a bacterial infection. Symptoms such as burning and lower abdominal pain can be eased by drinking alkaline medication such as Mist. Pot Cit (ask the pharmacist) or a sachet over the counter. However if there are bacteria present they need to be obliterated by antibiotics as they may travel back via the ureters (tubes connecting the kidneys to the bladder). This may rsult in kidney infections which can be serious. Sugest you take a clean urine sample to your doctor who may give you nitrofurantoin or pivampicillin or similar. You should get proper help.
