The National Park you are referring to is the Lamington National Park but the crash site is some hours hike south into the McPherson Ranges of NSW … The guy who implemented the rescue of the sirvivors of the crash of the Stinson aircraft was Bernard O’Reilly & I have posted a link here of his account of the rescue..
