What is the name of the lymph node located behind the ear?

My son has his tonsils out and I have found that since this operation when ever he gets sick that lymph node gets as big as a small apple. Always accompaning this is a very high fever. His Dr. has always acted all stumped and never does more than put him on antibiotics. Since this continues to happen I just wonder if maybe there is more to this lymph node.
