Ok, I’m not sure exactly what you are asking about, but here are the two things that come to mind. If you are looking for a tool other than a knife to use to do the cutting, I use a pizza cutter for things less than an inch or so thick, and a spatula for deeper things, or ones that need to stay in a pan with sides before cutting. To make sure that the cut is straight and even, I don’t know of a tool specifically for the kitchen to use, but I got a steel straight edge from the hardware store.
