What is the Myers-Briggs Personality Test?
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a test that measures how people perceive the world and make decisions in their life. It was created from the concept of Carl Jung’s 1921 book called “Psychological Types” which was first created during the Second World War with the intention of helping women identify jobs they could be good at while the men were away at war. The test was first published in 1962 by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. Testing has shown internal consistency and test-retest reliability making the MBTI a trusted personality test.
