What is the movie:Requiem For A Dream about?What happens in it?
It’s a kind of surrealist, experimental very visual approach to drug abuse and addiction. Darren Aronofsky directs and it was made in 2000. It stars Jared Leto, Jennifer Connely, Marlon Wayans and Ellen Burstyn. It shows the affects of drug depency from four different people, and the extremes to which they will go to for drugs. It’s very good, on imdb.com (the top movie rating site), it is number 62 in the top 250 movie list. There is a controversial end scene showing how each 4 end up due to drugs. It’s very disturbing and sad. The music is AMAZING, it’s by Clint Mansell and you may recognise the tune throughout the songs… it’s a violin piece, really sad and used a lot in trailers and was used in the Lord of the Rings Two Towers trailer. Brilliant film, one of my favourites. Also, it’s an 18.
