What is the movie upload transcoder?
We have re-tooled the upload movie process so that users no longer have to re-encode and hint their movies before uploading. This means that you can take your movie that is already encoded as a wmv, mpg, avi, etc and just upload it. The server will convert the movie into a proper format and prepare it for streaming. The server will now convert your movie into three different sized formats: full => This is just your original movie, converted and hinted for streaming. blog => This is your movie resized to PSU blog width for easy embedding. Due to the need for movie protection and the quicktime plugin, this size is not suitable for mobile phones, iPods, or any device not compatible with the quicktime plugin.
