I would say the determination of its people. My family moved to Clinton in 1935 from Weldon. Even thoug h we were coming out of a deep depression the people were determined to survive. At that time no door s were locked,your neighber was your friend, you could borrow everything but money because there wa s very little. Jake Tick was the richest man in town.
