What is the most practical use of a SWOT analysis?
Typically, graduate students are required to do an analysis of the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats for a company or a given situation when writing a report of findings. Once one moves beyond an academic environment, it is pretty rare to find this level of detail. Recently, I was reintroduced to this information in a practical way. A consultant, who I trust, showed me a way to use this information to view the current state of my business in a new light. This was really interesting.
