What is the most powerful symbol of freedom in the world?
A bird (of any type) is the most common symbol of freedom around the world. I’m surprised at how many people gave obvious blatant ethnocentric and nonsensical answers on here. The U.S. flag is not the most powerful symbol of freedom even for our country, especially around the world. No, the bald eagle is the most powerful symbol of freedom for our nation, that and the statue of liberty. Any flag of any nation carries a political connotation and is thus not a complete symbol of freedom (for many outside the U.S. our flag symbolizes war in post-Bush era). Any religious symbol is also the same, anything with a political or religious connotation that carries with it a dogma and set of rules and is not completely inclusive is obviously not a universal symbol of freedom. The majority of the world is NOT Christian and obviously not American, the most common symbol is a bird (various types).
