Congress and our President have signed into law a bill that will change the Lincoln cent design in 2009. Not just one new design, but four new cent designs are scheduled. (All 4 coins are to be issued during the same year, 2009.) Back in the year 1909 our country celebrated the 100th birthday of our famous president Abraham (Abe) Lincoln. To commemorate that event and honor the occasion, congress authorized a change in the copper penny design.
