What is the most hygienic way to store flour and sugar?
It’s actually better to remove flour and sugar from the bags and put them into clean, resealable, airtight containers. The bags can’t be closed properly to keep things from getting in. I have a friend who didn’t bake very often who went to use her flour only to find bugs inside the bag. It grossed her out and grossed me out when she told me about it. If the containers you want to use can filled with sugar or flour and then flipped upside down without leaking out then the containers are good enough. Anything is better than the bags the flour and sugar come in.
