For sterilizing a heat sensitive liquid, it needs to be filtered through membrane filter having pore size 0.22micron. These are nitrocellulose membranes available with Milli pore company. These membranes are available in different diameters. These need to be put in a special assembly which can be autoclaved after fitting the membrane inside the assembly. One has to decide about the suitable assembly depending upon the volume of the liquid. If you want to filter 20 to 50 ml of liquid, then a small assembly can be conveniently used with a syringe attached to it. The filtration needs to ba carried out in sterile area preferably a laminar cabinet. The filtrate needs to be collected in a sterile container.
