What is the most bizarre thing you have been asked to do?
I became a religious sister MANY years ago… I was asked to water a dead plant – which I did for months…and it actually came back to life and got green leaves…(what a surprise) A female pheasant got into the corridor outside our chapel…The command (it wasn’t really possible to say no) was: Pick up the bird and get rid of it. Iwas a fabulous experience: I was actually able to go over to the wall that it was trying to hide in, picked it up in my two hand, and it was so incredible soft I couldn’t believe it. Then another person opened the door, and I let it go. What a beautiful sight to see it spread its wings and fly off. And once, we were asked to just “be” outside. I didn’t know what this meant, so I sat on the grass outside our building in the beautiful sun and tried to be as quiet and motionless as possible, and a sparrow perched on my knee and hopped on my lap for about 5 minutes, totally comfortable and totally unafraid of me.
