In the St. Louis art Museum, there’s a painting based on Longfellow’s “Evangeline.” It’s a beautiful painting of the Louisiana wetlands, with the distant (and beautifull clothed) figure of Evangeline asleep outside a tent on one of the banks. Absolutely stunning.
