What is the most accurate military surplus rifle and what sort of grouping should one expect?
Hi On average the K31 Swiss is the most accurate of the bunch, followed closely by the 1903a3 Springfield. Both of those rifles in good condition are easily able to maintain group sizes under 1″ at 100 yards with their iron sights. The sights are really the limit on accuracy, with scopes these rifles do much better. A friend’s 1903a4 will hold to 1/2″ or less with hand loaded ammo.
