The Monthly Recurring Charge for Basic Rate appears on your bill under the Products and Services section of the Long Distance portion of your bill. The $4.95 Monthly Recurring Charge is billed on a monthly basis. For example, if you receive an AT&T bill covering 3 months, you will receive a monthly recurring charge for each of the 3 months. This charge does not apply to AT&T long distance Lifeline customers. There are alternate AT&T Long Distance calling plans that you may review to find one that may be right for you.
