What is the MLB record for consecutive hits by a player?
I found this paragraph while searching for this information – it comes from a summary of the 1952 season. July 15 – Detroit Tigers first baseman Walt Dropo collects seven consecutive hits over the course of doubleheader against the Washington Senators. Combined with the five consecutive hits he recored on July 14, Dropo establishes the American League and Major League record for consecutive hits in consecutive plate appearances with ten base hits. So he set the record at 10, although my math tells me that 5 consecutive hits followed by 7 more makes 12, not 10… so I am not 100% sure on this information. But Chick Hafey definitely hit in 10 consecutive at bats back in 1929.
