What is the mission of STEP? What services does STEP offer?
The statewide mission of the Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) is to increase the number of historically underrepresented and disadvantaged students prepared to enter college and improve their participation rate in mathematics, science, technology, health-related fields, and the licensed professions. STEP services include: field trips (educational, cultural, and college visits!), leadership opportunities, Saturday College, tutoring, academic advisement, mentoring, career exploration, college preparation seminars and application assistance, skill-building workshops, research opportunities, a Summer Program, job shadows, annual awards banquet, and a parent’s council.
