What is the Miscellaneous Procurement Component Charge?
The Miscellaneous Procurement Component Charge is a new line item for hourly customers. This charge was previously a part of the Transmission Services Charge. However, it is now itemized on your bill to make it easier to compare the total supply costs under RRTP to the fixed-rate service. This charge recovers the costs that ComEd incurs related to procuring electricity supply directly from PJM-administered markets for customers with hourly energy pricing that are not recovered through the application of the Capacity Charge, the Electricity Supply Charge, and the Transmission Charge. Similar costs for customers on the fixed rate are included in their Electricity Supply Charge.
