Most graduate departments at Carnegie Mellon prefer to see TOEFL scores of 600 for the paper/pencil exam, 250 for the computer-based exam, and 100 for the iBT. Our minimum (iBT) requirements to be considered for admissions are a total score of at least 92; with no sub score below 23 (ie. Speaking – 23; Writing – 23; Listening – 23; Reading – 23).
