What is the minimum surface pressure to be applied to reach an optimum thermal contact resistance and therefore an optimum total resistance of the thermal flow ?
The thermal contact resistance depends on the pressure applied. In general: the higher the pressure applied, the lower the thermal contact resistance. After exceeding the phase change temperature for the first time, a pressure of about 200 kPa will already ensure a good thermal contact resistance. Higher pressures will have only low impact on the thermal contact resistance.
