What is the minimum size of flue?
The minimum size of flue depends on the type of fuel being burnt and size of appliance being used, the minimum size should be taken from table 2.2 of Building Regulations Part J, for conventional fireplaces burning solid fuel the minimum flue size would be 200mm diameter or a square flue having the same cross sectional area and a minimum dimension of not less than 175mm.
