What is the minimum radius for successful operation of Dingham Autocouplers?
Short wheelbase vehicles can be coupled and uncoupled on radii of approximately 4ft 6in (7mm scale) or 2ft 6in (4mm scale). The Dingham Autocouplers rely on the buffers on vehicles for buffing, just as 3-link and screw couplings do, i.e. the Dingham couplers do nothing to prevent buffer locking. This means that restrictions on propelling and pulling trains through trackwork are the same as for 3-link/screw couplings.
